Common Spaces Overlooked When Cleaning an Office: Ensure a Thorough Cleaning with InsideOut

A clean and organized office is vital for creating a productive and healthy work environment. Unfortunately, certain areas are commonly overlooked during routine office cleaning, leading to a less-than-perfect professional setting. But worry not, Inside Out Cleaning is here to help you identify and tackle those forgotten spaces. In this article, we’ll discuss four areas that frequently get missed during office cleaning, ensuring your workplace remains pristine and optimized for success.

1. Hidden Corners and Hard-to-Reach Locations: Don’t Let Dust Accumulate

Often overlooked when cleaning offices, hidden corners and hard-to-reach locations can accumulate dust and dirt, providing a breeding ground for allergens and bacteria. To maintain a healthy workspace, pay attention to the following areas:

– Behind and Under furniture: Move desks, cabinets, and other office furniture to clean beneath and behind them, as dust and debris tend to accumulate in these areas.

– Top of Cabinets and Shelves: Dust gathers on top of tall furniture, such as cabinets and bookshelves, which can negatively impact air quality. Be sure to dust these surfaces regularly.

– Air Vents and Ducts: Blocked or dusty air vents can circulate allergens and contaminants throughout the office. Clean vents and ducts to ensure optimal air quality and reduce the risk of respiratory issues.

2. High-Traffic Surfaces: Cleanliness Equals Wellness

In a busy office, high-traffic surfaces can become breeding grounds for germs, posing health risks to employees. Keep your workforce healthy by addressing these areas during your cleaning routine:

– Door Handles and Light Switches: Disinfect door handles, light switches, and other frequently touched surfaces, minimizing the spread of germs and illness.

– Elevator Buttons: These buttons come into contact with countless hands daily, making them a hotspot for bacteria. Regularly sanitize elevator buttons to prevent the spread of germs.

– Stair Railings: Stair railings, like door handles and elevator buttons, are touched frequently and should be disinfected regularly.

3. Overlooked Office Equipment: Don’t Neglect the Unsung Heroes

Every office has essential equipment that’s often overlooked during cleaning. Be sure to include the following items in your office cleaning routine:

– Keyboards and Mice: Office keyboards and mice can host significant amounts of dirt, crumbs, and bacteria. Regularly clean these items with disinfectant wipes or specialized cleaning tools.

– Telephones: Clean telephone receivers, keypads, and headsets frequently with disinfectant wipes or a soft cloth dampened with rubbing alcohol to remove dirt and bacteria.

– Printers and Copiers: Dust and clean the exterior of printers, copiers, and other office equipment to maintain optimal performance and prevent contamination.

– Breakroom Appliances: Keep office refrigerators, microwaves, and coffee machines clean to promote a hygienic breakroom for employees to enjoy during their downtime.

4. Restrooms and Breakrooms: Prioritize Hygiene and Comfort

Restrooms and breakrooms are essential spaces for employee wellness and comfort. Dedicate time and attention to thoroughly clean and maintain these areas:

– Restrooms: Ensure restrooms remain clean, properly stocked, and well-maintained. This includes sanitizing toilets, sinks, and other fixtures, as well as replenishing soap, paper towels, and toilet paper as needed.

– Breakrooms: Keep breakrooms clean and inviting by wiping down countertops, tables, chairs, and other surfaces regularly, and ensuring the space remains tidy and organized. Clean spills and messes promptly to prevent pest issues and maintain a hygienic environment.

Conclusion

Achieving a thoroughly cleaned and well-maintained office space is attainable with Inside Out Cleaning’s expert guidance. By addressing commonly overlooked corners, high-traffic surfaces, office equipment, and areas such as restrooms and breakrooms, you contribute to a healthy, efficient, and productive work environment for all employees.
